ok- I have been studying my weaknesses in depth and am ready to take a practice exam. In fact, I am going to take a few practice exams. What is the best place to take these exams, I am thinking about kaplan, manhattan gmat or official gmat?

By place, do you mean a physical place you go to, like a testing center? Or do you just mean the tests?

So far I have taken GMATPrep and Princeton Review tests and thought they were very similar. GMATPrep is supposed to be the best because they're the official tests. I have not read good things so far about Kaplan here and don't know much yet about Manhattan GMAT. I hadn't heard of them before coming here. Are they new?

If you are referring to a physical place to take these practice exams--I recommend a somewhat busy area of a public library. That's where I did my own prep, and it really helped me to get used to ambient noise.

And if you are talking about what specific exams to take, I generally recommend to my students that they save their GMATPrep tests for later - you only get two clean tests.

So, of course, I recommend that my own students take one of our own exams first... :)

And to the poster asking about ManhattanGMAT, we were founded in 2000. You may not have heard of us because we only do the GMAT - we don't do SAT, which is where most people first hear about the major test prep companies.
