Only A conveys the intended meaning: that the elephant...WAS EARNING...exactly what she THEN EARNED.

The correct answer is A.

A.that the elephant that gave rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo was earning ...Holding it..
B. that the elephant giving rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo, had been earning . Here the tense is not the same
C. that there was an elephant giving rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo and it earned.. The usage of "it" is ambiguous, it also refers to the zoo
D. the elephnat that gave rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo and was earning .. Usage of co-ordinating conjunction is absurd.
E.the elephant giving rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo and that it earned ... Again "it" is ambiguous.

So Option A is correct!!!!

E.the elephant giving rides to children at the Whipsnade zoo and that it earned

This question is basically testing noun-pronoun,subject-verb agreement and tenses thing.

Option B: 'had been earning' is the wrong tense. wrong usage of past perfect tense.

Option C: ambigious 'it'. Not having a clear referent. whether 'it' represents the zoo or the elephant. That changes the meaning of the sentence claiming that whether the elephant got the money or the zoo got the money...

Options D and E: Not having the usage of 'that' which is the wrong thing.

Option A is the best out of all the sentences...

Hope this helps, Vanshika21.
