The same post was posted recently by someone and a brilliant explanation was given (I think by atul mangal) that idiom "not only but also" should be used only when both are talking about the same flow, in option A if u notice one part talks positive thing "create farmland" and the other part talks about the negative thing "caused erosion"

Therefore,option 1 is wrong and option 2 is correct..........
