A recent survey regarding the use of the Internet by the nation's top business leaders found that nearly ninety-five percent of them are subscribed to business-related RSS feeds, almost the same as the number of those who have subscriptions to The Wall Street Journal.

the same as the number of those who have subscriptions to

similar to the number who subscribe to

equivalent to those who have subscriptions for

as many as the number of those who subscribe to

as many as are subscribed to

A. "Subscribe to" is not paralle to "have subscription to". Also Verbose.
B. Not parallel.
C. Not parallel.
D. Plenty of reasons.
E. Correct Choice.

IMO E.

Choice E is correct, but whey the use of "as many as" ? this sounds redundant and unidiomatic.
why not "as many are subscribed" or "as many leaders are subscribed"

this sentence tests meaning and parallelism; my choice were D and E, D seems interesting at first glance, the present is meaningless because the experment is already done. so the best choice is E which correct for both

Ok..my only problem with E is "as many as" as many as what subscribed ?

for example as many as 100 subscribed is more accurate.

If you guys don't find this wrong, then I need to see a therapist.

You are right when actually using a number like you did in "as many as 100".
In this instance the number is replaced by a known quantity : "politicians who are subscribed to WSJ".

Also D is redundant.

IMO C

Since a number is given in the question equivalent to would be the right choice.
(A) is too wordy
(B) Almost similar - can't be used together
(D) & (E) i think either almost or as many as should be used.
Please correct me if i am wrong
