Is x < 0?

1. 7 x > 8 x.
2. -3 (x) > 0.

ANSWER: D

1. 7x > 8x can only be true if x = a negative number.
7(-2) > 8(-2) : TRUE
7(2) > 8(2) : FALSE

Therefore, 1 is SUF.

2. -3x > 0 can only be true if x = negative since neg * neg = positive, but neg * pos = negative.

Therefore, 2 is SUF as well.
