Feedback from people following the 60-day GMAT study guide?

Can people who are following the 60-day study guide give some feedback on how your preparation is going? Does the schedule have a good logical flow of topics from one day to the next? How hard is to stick to the schedule? If you miss a day or two in between, are you able to make it up during the weekends? Any other comments about this plan?

Most importantly for me personally: Is this a good way to start studying for the GMAT even if you don't intend to give your GMAT exam at the end of 60 days?

I know that is a lot of questions, but I will appreciate any replies.

Hi saintforlife,

I think the guide does a good job in getting a person started in a studying pattern. The guide lays out a good plan to study the quantitative material, however, I would say each of the study "days" took me 2-4 days (studying around 4 hours each day), and I did most of suggested advanced problems. On the days I didn't do the advance problems, I could shave off a day or two. I stopped following the guide when I hit the sentence correction portion as I thought it would be best to go over the entire MGMAT SC book, which I have just finished (it took about 15 days of studying). Now that I have finished up the MGMAT SC book, I plan on going back to the 6 SC emails and watch the videos.

I started off with a 550 on the GMATPrep 1 around July 2011. I retook the GMATPrep 1 on January 7th and got a 640 (after completing my Quantitative prep). And I just finished the MGMAT CAT #1 on February 4th and got (got a 640) after my SC prep.

I would say I only did 10-20 quantitative problems during my SC review. And although, I have written extensive notecards for both quantitative and SC material, I haven't really reviewed them. But I believe, going back to review and do more problems will definitely help.

In summary,

not bad, but I do question whether it would have been more beneficial going through each of the MGMAT quant books.
