How the score is calculated.

by go2kavinkumar » Sun Oct 12, 2008 8:19 pm
I have started my Gmat Preparation.
I know that there will be 37 questions in Quants and 41 questions in Verbal.

But the scores for Gmat is calculated out of 60. Is it direct conversion from 37 to 60 and 41 to 60? Or is there any separate logic used to get the score?

Please help in understanding this.

The breakup for quant and verbal are called rawscores which range from 0-60. However the practical scores range from 10-50. It is considered that 50 in quant and 50 in verbal contribute to 800 composite score. It is believed that these raw scores are evaluated in three parameters

1) number of questions attempted
2) number of questions u got right
3) greater diff level of questions attempted (remember that this is CAT test)

However ensure that u complete all the questions in each ofthe sections either it may be quant or verbal because it is as equally important as to maintain first one third section 100%accuracy.

All the best
