Alternative transcript courses- Community College vs. 4-year

I know there are a lot of threads on here about alternative transcripts, but I can't seem to find a specific answer to this question. I graduated from a 4-year school with a BA in Political Science. I have no quantitative course work and realize I need to take the basics (calc, statistics, etc.)
My question is, would it matter if I take these classes at a community college? It would obviously be a lot cheaper and more accessible to be able to do so.

Also, having no quantitative background, which classes/how many should I take? Thank you.

Dear tburnsnj,

You can take undergraduate quant courses at either a community college or university, whichever works best with your schedule. Online courses are also sufficient if you have that option. The only thing you need to be sure of is that the school is accredited and you will be able to get an official transcript showing the grade (hopefully an A) you earned in each class. In terms of courses, you definitely want to take at least one math class, preferably calculus; if it has been awhile, you might take college algebra first and then calculus. Other good course options after that would be statistics, accounting or finance. Depending on your time and resources, you can take as many as you like, but I think 2-3 is probably best if you have no quant courses on your transcript and did not score well on the quant section of the GMAT.
