Well, significantly improving quant score in 6 days is like swimming the Pacific in 6 days... :)

You can improve the score by practice and by getting the concepts clear. Utilize all those 4 hrs with ur tutor to the fullest. Practice OG questions.

If improving Quant is ur goal, then the only way is practice. Practice tough questions. Read the explanations thoroughly of the questions u got wrong.

Five days to go -- not a lot of time.

Do a few things and you will give yourself a good chance.

1) Please re-engage with the verbal over the past few days. There are lots of points to be had on the verbal and you want to be at peak form when you reach test day. You should come close to 50% of your time on the verbal side. And when you do verbal remember to make the question your own. Don't just take the sentence correction the way that they give it to you - separate what you need from the pronouns and the modifiers, which are often there to distract you. For critical reasoning, focus on the conclusion and the most important premise and not on the background information...

2) This may sound contrary to what you would think, but with the time you have left, you might stop focusing on the areas of quant that you are really struggling with. Instead work on the areas that you are already good at and try to bring those areas up to excellence. If we to are assume that you cannot bring everything up to a standard of excellence in the next few days I think it is better for you to get many areas to a point where you basically look forward to seeing them - for me an example would be ratios - rather than getting most things to a moderate standard. It is not enough to have most things to a standard where you "might get them right" on test day. It is better to have many things at a high level and if there are others that you usually cannot work out then you might be able to use that knowledge on test day. Does this make sense?

3) Here is a link to a discussion where I made a posting on timing strategy. This might help as well. https://www.beatthegmat.com/guessing-3-4 ... 69861.html

Happy Studying!

tks, if you stay focused on Data Sufficiency questions for quant and boost your decision making abilities in the next couple of days, your GMAT score will only benefit from this. That was tip#1.

By pushing hard on quant questions 1-3 and 5-8 on the real thing, you will have access to your strongest area topics as David from Veritas Prep noted - work out your strongest areas. That would be tip#2.

Put down time grid on the exam note sheets. Strictly monitor the time; if you can not answer the question within 2-2.5 minutes, the probability that your answer will be correct is not in function with the time for GMAT purpose. Make the best guess and move on. That is counted as tip#3.

I am not aware if you are native English speaker or foreigner. Depending on this your strategy for tackling verbal should be defined.

Take a good sleep before exam. When we are tired, an impulse puts the strain on our brain. Tired people become impatient and allow for many silly mistakes.

good luck on your exam.
