LSAT PREP 28 #3

Hey guys I have a question..
This is a resolve the paradox question and in the CR bible I had read that when there is a difference in the question stem the correct answer will show a difference.Hence,a similiarity cannot explain a difference and vice versa
In tis question,the birds are behaving in different ways so i chose (D).
Please explain...

The window panes reflect the vegetation and so they bum in to the window panes. What's the OA?

I explained it right.
Anyway,
the birds try to flee to the nearby vegetation, and thus in that course, the windows reflect the vegetation, which in fact isn't present as it's just a reflection. Thus seeing that, the birds assume that it's a vegetation and thus bum into the window panes. That's my reasoning. Now, what's the OA?

@kbharadwaj.1987 I was not telling you to explain your sentence I was asking you to explain my QUERIE and why other options are wrong.Hope now i am being clear enough so that you can understand!

The OA is E.
Now,could somebody explain the difference/similarity thing and why it does'nt work in this question?

IMO E.

The reason why it can't be D : The premise clearly states that Birds will go towards nearby vegetation. Now for the very reason that birds go to windowpanes is that it looks like vegetation to them.
D does not give any reason what so ever on why loud noise will make birds get attracted towards window panes. hence a wrong choice.

Yes, indeed, you are right: D does provide a "difference" between the two situations and should therefore be the correct answer. However, the "difference" does not refer to the paradox. Here, the two conflicting pieces of information are as follows:
- birds try to take cover in vegetation
- however, this doesn't work in suburban areas since they die by hitting window panes
The paradox therefore concerns the effectiveness of a method of defense. The correct answer should address this paradox. There might be other distinctions between the two situations (like in D, when birds are startled by different things), but these distinctions do not concern the paradox - a crucial difference. As much as I hate the phrase (which was sometimes the only explanation provided for some questions in the Kaplan program), D is out of scope.

I hope this makes it clearer.
