Are GMAT Practice Tests Adaptive ?

by nishants » Mon Oct 22, 2012 2:38 pm
I have 2010 Kaplan Premier book and took the test in the end of the book. I realized after going through the score calculation algorithm that it is not adaptive all questions are of same weight and same marks 0.25 deducted for wrong question.

Is the Kaplan free test available online is same way not adaptive according to the difficulty level of the question ?
Is it the same case for all the tests in the CD comes with 2010 Kaplan Premier book ?

What about Manhattan Practice tests ? I bought MGMAT SC book last month, so have access to 6 practice tests with them. Are they adaptive and algorithm close to GMAC tests ?

MGMAT tests are adaptive and tend to underscore. They are harder scoring than the GMAT or GMATPrep.

Veritas practice tests are also adaptive and can also underscore (although for a few they do tend to overscore).

Of course the official GMATPrep practice tests are the ones that have the same algorithm as the actual GMAT.
