What is the best preparation for the AWA? How much time should be spent prepping for this section?

I am giving my gmat in a month. spending half an hour daily working on AWAs would do me no harm right??

I think that's the right amount of commitment. Toward the end of your prep, try to a couple of timed AWAs. Otherwise, don't sweat this section too much.
