Best Study Plan

by ronnie.agarwal » Tue Aug 10, 2010 7:17 pm
Hello,

I am planning to undertake GMAT in the 3rd week of October' 2010. So starting from today I have approximately 2.5 months of preparation time. Out of that 5 days will be completely washed as I will be out of town. My question is that what should be the number of hours that I should put in each day to get a 700+ score. basically what I am looking forward is if someone can help me outline a study plan that I will follow daily. Also where should I start from and what books should I have. I have OG 12th edition and many ebooks. But can some one tell me the list of must have books and where to start from?

All your help is deeply appreciated.

Thanks
Ronak

Hi Ronnie,

I just finished doing a 9 week study for my GMAT I did today.

Like many ppl suggest here, I would take the diagnostic test to see where your strengths and weaknesses are before you start studying. With about 2 months of studying from fresh, you want to be devoting your precious time to sections that will most benefit your score. For example... scored poorly on verbal, now you definitely know that you need to study verbal.

I would definitely recommend getting at least 1 Manhattan book. The most popular is Sentence Correction. Getting 1 Manhattan Book provides you with access to 6 CAT exams that you should do to practice, review and get down your timing. Also, these exams provide you with the correct answers and explainations.

If your wondering what I used.... Kaplan Verbal, Kaplan Math, OG 12 (must), Manhattan SC and RC, and Powerscore CR. I heavily concentrated on Verbal since that was my weakness, and always scored well in Quants from the start.
