For the first question:
B: Nor needs to be paired with neither, not either
C: wordy (through the imitation of adults) compared with the original; changes original meaning by saying they don't know whether he learns to distinguish... as opposed to they do not know how he learns to distinguish... (big difference).
D: wordy (as in C); either should be paired with or OR neither should be paired with nor.
E: again: Neither...nor (missing the neither)

Forgot the 2nd question!

You can eliminate a,b,and e because you cannot say 'a large amount of people' as the word people is a plural countable noun and should be preceded by number (a large number of people).

C can be eliminated because the verb 'prove' is plural and needs to be in singular if it is to agree with psychotherapy which is singular. Even if it were 'proves' it would still be wrong as the original sentence predicts what psychotherapy 'will' do in the future, so the correct answer choice should still utilize the 'will'.

Are you sure you copied the answer choices/question correctly?

Yes I cross checked, both Q&A's are same

Questions are taken from GMAT premier 2010-11 Edition (SC Practice Quiz)
