Help with GMAT Study Plan!

by devnull » Wed Dec 21, 2011 6:20 am
Hello all,

I want to take the GMAT exam in about 4 months. I have the following resources:

1 - Kaplan GMAT Math Workbook (6th ed) - Which I finished
2 - Official Guide 12th Edition
3 - Manhattan GMAT Strategy Guide (8 Books).
4 - 2 GmatPrep Tests and 6 Manhattan Online Tests.

As mentioned above, I finished the Kaplan GMAT Math workbook and took a GmatPrep test (didn't do well - couldn't finish Math section in time and missed 9 questions) - and I have recently started the first book in the series of the Manhattan GMAT Strategy (Number Properties).

I have all these books and resources but I do not have a set plan, any ideas of how I should proceed? should I start at the books one by one? should I study Math stuff for the first 3 months and then give 1 month to the verbal (cause I'm al right with verbal)? or should I start studying Math and Verbal together (one day Math another verbal). I plan to study 5 days a week for 3 hours per day.

I signed up for the 30-day GMAT plan on this website but I found it a bit fast paced - so I'm looking to go a bit deeper in the subject. My Target score is 650+.

What's a good plan from your experience? What course of action should I take? How should I proceed?

Any input will be much appreciated.

Best,

Start with the Official Guide, and then use one of your Strategy Guides whenever you find a certain topic or question type difficult.

Take regular full-length exams at even intervals leading up to your exam. I'll leave it to you to do the calendar math, but I don't recommend doing full-length exams more than twice a week or less than once a month.
