how to plan for the colleges

by tuhin4gmat » Fri Jun 11, 2010 10:12 am
Hi,
I am planning to appear for gmat by August end. One of my aim is to get admitted by next year. As I started late, I am left with less time. I have 5 years of work experience and want to get a good work opportunity and good pay after graduation.

Please guide me how to plan for that. Which colleges should I aim. When and how to plan for Essays, application and recommendation etc.

Thanks,
Tuhin

Hi Tuhin,

First of all, your timing is right on target. With an August GMAT score you will be in good shape to apply for Round 1 (deadlines are usually October). You only need to have the GMAT score done by the deadline.

It is hard to give other guidance based on the information you provided - the schools you chose to apply to should fit with your general "profile" (grades, GMAT score, type of experience) and also your preference (is the school large or small, what are the main focuses, etc.). But, obviously the idea of ANY business school program is that it will provide you with more opportunities to have a successful (and better paying) career when you are done!

SO, I'm happy to give more guidance if you provide more information - but, to start with, you are NOT late in the process...if anything, you are early. AND, 5 years of experience is perfect.

Good luck to you!
