LSAT questions

by nycknicks11 » Thu May 12, 2011 10:30 pm
What kind of timing are people giving themselves on these? LSAT sets are usually 25 questions in 35 minutes. Are we supposed to still do 2 min per?

Hi nycknicks11!

If you are utilizing LSAT Logical Reasoning question for more CR practice, then you definitely want to stick to CR timing benchmarks. I typically recommend 2.5min for CR (1.5min SC and 3-4min for each RC passage + 1min each RC question).

What is the size of the passage you are referring to? all the LSAT passages are at least 55 lines but most of them are more.

Hi nycknicks11 -

I assumed you were talking about LSAT Logical Reasoning problems as this post was in the Critical Reasoning forum (the short, single question arguments). If you were asking about the Reading Comp passages, then that would be a very different answer (and I would definitely recommend you start a thread in the RC forum instead).

Hi,

I was referring to your earliest post in this thread where you suggested "3-4 min per passage and 1 minute per question." Just wondering what the length of the passage you are referring to. It sounds like you were referring to GMAT passages because you mentioned SC in the same breadth. However, the recommended timing for an LSAT passage according to LSAT prep material is pretty much that timing or less. I am just wondering how one would adapt LSAT material for GMAT preparation.
