Hi Agganitk,

E is correct.

Compound subject "Mr B and she" means we need a plural verb. Eliminate A-C

Her vs She. We need a subject pronoun. "She intends to install" is correct. "Her intends to install is not correct". Eliminate D.

Idiom "Intend to do X" is correct and can also be used to eliminate A and B

I was just careless when I solved. D is better than E.

The sentence core is: "All of the tenants intend to install"

"except Mr. B and her" is a modifier that tells us more about tenants. This is not actually the subject, so we don't need "she".

It may make more sense with commas: "All of the tenants, except X and Y, intend to install deadbolts"

Actually I thought so , but the OA is surprisingly D !! , I really do not know what does HER mean here .
but this is the exact answer that is provided in the answer (source : practice.beatthegmat.com)

The original sentence contains three errors. First, there is a grammatical error in subjectverb agreement between all and intends. The use of she directly before the verb is a distractor. Second, the use of she in the original is in itself incorrect: her is called for as the object of the preposition except. Finally, the phrase intends on is not idiomatic. Only (D) corrects all three errors.
I really do not have any idea about it ! .. help pleasee !!!

Remember the SANAM Indefinite Pronouns:
S-SOME
A-ANY
N-NONE
A-ALL
M-Many

THe subject of these pronouns is present in the "of-prespositional-phrase" that follows them.
Here,
"All of the tenants", so main subject is tenanats (plural) so verb has got to be plural--intend
Now, between D and E, except Mr. Baumgardner and her is correct. (we need Objective pronoun and not subjective pronoun here).

So Pick D.

I was thinking E as well because I always match the words with the entire sentence (i.e. Jim and I walked in the park..not Me and Jim.)

I believe pronoun "her" is object of preposition "except" in this case. D seems correct.
