IMO E.
E explains an alternative reason why coffee has been consumed less.

D is out of scope. Increased consumption of any other drink does not explain decreased consumption of coffee.

I thought E is out of scope...because we never said cost are a consideration.

D suggests, alternative reason for people switching to coffee. That many people started having an alternative product

OA is E

To weaken the argument, you must find alternate reason relative to the argument.

Here coffee is described. So u need to find the alternate reason based on coffee.

If the consumption of fruits juices increase, how do u know it is the reason to decrease the cofee consumption..Nowhere it is discussed.Out of scope.

The most common way of weakening is to identify a ALternative reason which pertains to the scope of the argument .

Always looks for scope shift that looks very attractive for a weakener. Once u see that, just cross check if that one is within the scope of the stimulus. else Discard it!
