10 weeks to go.. need some strategy guide

by Pdgmat2010 » Mon Mar 22, 2010 4:28 am
hi all, i need to know whether my strategy so far has been right and how can I improve it
Verbal resources
1. Verbal :MGMAT SC, CR, RC guides -> all studied for concepts and worked on 50% of OG 12 and Verbal review 12 questions
2. Quant:
Topics done :
Word Translations + corresponding OG 11 probs
Geometry + corr. OG 11 probs
Topics pending:
Inequalities, VICs
Number properties
Fractions, decimals ( all MGMAT guides)

i tend to study a particular topic and then solve the OG / Quant Review questions after that.
Can someone recommend any more books from which i need to solve practise problems?

i have the following resources at hand for the questions
1. OG 12, Verbal Review 12 , Quant Review 12
2. OG 11, Quant Review 11
3. Kaplan 800
4. Kaplan Verbal Workbook ( 2009 edition)

Please tell me if i need to practise any more problems apart from this material that i have.
please note that i am 10 weeks away from my test and the topics i have covered so far are listed above

I intend to do the MGMAT practise tests once i have devoured all the concepts for Quant.
Is solving from OG at the end of each topic a good idea? or should i take it big bang and read ALL guides / concepts
and then attack the entire OG set?

Please help me as i am having sleepless nights over the same.
P.S ; i work on weekdays so i am able to study 3 hours daily and upto 6 hours on weekends ( mostly boredom kicks in beyond 6 hours)

Please Help

Study whatever way makes you most comfortable. What is vitally important is that you do what you are doing--spend time with content and strategy before spending time grinding out problems. Exactly which problems you do in which is unlikely to significantly impact your results beyond that.

I will say that the sleepless nights are something that can hurt your score far worse than not studying perfectly. Take some breaks! You're putting in a lot of time to ace the test, and the dedication is great, but unless you have some time to get some fresh air, exercise, and relax, the buildup of stress is likely to counteract the buildup of knowledge and skill.

Good luck, and let me know if I can answer any further questions.

thanks a lot Eli.
I just need to know if my sources of questions listed above are enough for a good score?
Or should i add any more resources for questions?
i have pretty much all the books for the strategy part.

Cheers,
Pd
