71) Physicians' associations argue that because only physicians understand the underlying skills that an individual needs in order to practice medicine according to professional standards, these associations should continue to exercise control over the admissions standards of medical schools. Critics reply that in other fields, professional standards are upheld even though professional associations do not control admissions standards for schools."¨"¨Which of the following, if true, most strongly supports the argument of the physicians' associations against the challenge offered by the critics?
"¨(A) The quality of education in schools whose admissions are controlled by professional associations is generally thought to have declined in recent years.
"¨(B) Experienced professionals in several other professions are considered better evaluators of professional skills than physicians are.
"¨(C) No professional associations other than physicians' associations have ever attempted to control admissions to professional schools.
"¨(D) In the decade after physicians' associations began to control the number of students admitted to medical schools, accidents caused by physician negligence declined sharply.
"¨(E) Prospective physicians who are denied admission to medical school may still work in other health care professions.

IMO
D"¨
Physicians say that they should control admission of students in the medical schools, but critics say that even in the absence of Physicians' control standards are maintained.
(A) The quality of education in schools whose admissions are controlled by professional associations is generally thought to have declined in recent years. (It weakens the argument)
"¨(B) Experienced professionals in several other professions are considered better evaluators of professional skills than physicians are. (It weakens the argument)
"¨(C) No professional associations other than physicians' associations have ever attempted to control admissions to professional schools. (no one attempted does not mean no one is better than physicians' associations)
"¨(D) In the decade after physicians' associations began to control the number of students admitted to medical schools, accidents caused by physician negligence declined sharply. (Slightly supporting the associations)
"¨(E) Prospective physicians who are denied admission to medical school may still work in other health care professions. (physicians' associations is not supported in this option rather than individual physicians' caliber is highlighted. Moreover argument talks about students admission rather than that of physicians )

Good Question. Parallel reasoning + Strengthen Question.
Physician's : We must continue to control over the admission standard of medical school in order to maintain high standards.
Critics:
but in OTHER fields, High standards are maintained even though professions dont control admission standards.
Loophole : Medical profession is consider same as OTHER FIELDS.(dont know what other fields are?)
We need to support Physician's.
A) Sort of Weakening the Argument.
B) Comparison between professionals ( Irrelevant)
C) Irrelevant as we dont care whether other professionals ever tried.
D) Showing a positive effect of Physician control. We can use this to counter attack the critics.
E) Out of Scope.
Initially after reading the Paragraph, I was thinking that answer will be somewhat differentiating medical field from other fields. But its something in support of Physician claim and quite easy to spot.
