Although most people know that the exercise is good for the body, few realize the extent to which it is valuable to the mind. The blood circulates more rapidly after the physical exertion, thus allowing all of the body's organs to operate more efficiently. This increased activity enables brain to receive more oxygen, thereby creating a higher capacity for concentration.

The main point in the argument above is that

1. the greater the amount of oxygen brain receives, the better it functions.

2. Exercise is a mental as well as physical activity.

3. Exercise helps the brain more than it does the rest of the body.

4. people can greatly improve their powers of concentration by exercising more often.

5.exercise serves more than one purpose.

OA is 5

Actually, it is not stated in the argument if exercise is a mental activity. It just says that exercise also has an added advantage which many people dont realize. so, E is the best choice implying that it serves more than one purpose.

No doubt you are correct! But the thing is E makes the scope too wide. You have to stick to the argument.

The introduction line says it..That people already know its good for body and few know that it is good for mind too.
The rest of the stimulus explains why and how it is good for mind.So author wants us to know how mind is beneficial to both mind and body.

I hope this helps..

thanks.

the author here is not arguing about whether exercise is a physical or a mental activity. the main point of the author is to highlight that exercise has more than one benefit i.e, it serves more than one purpose. for eg, it is good for mind as well as for body.

hence IMO E.

Thanks!

I must admit that B seems to be the answer. What's OA?
