CR - Inference

by karthikpandian19 » Wed Jun 27, 2012 11:23 pm
Over the past five years, a publisher's three major magazines have all had performances that, by the standards of the publishing industry, were unusually consistent. In each of those years, the sports magazine supplied the publisher with roughly 30% of dollar sales and 25% of profits, the arts magazine supplied 45% of dollar sales and 35% of profits, and the fashion magazine supplied the balance of both figures.

Regarding the five years mentioned in the argument, which of the following can be properly inferred?

(A) Total dollars sales for each magazine were almost completely consistent throughout the duration of the five years.

(B) The sports magazine faces more competition from magazines put out by other publishers than the arts magazine does.

(C) The fashion magazine has generated the highest profits per dollar of total generated sales of all three magazines.

(D) The variety of articles printed in each of the three magazines has remained largely unchanged for five years.

(E) Costly, high-profile writers make up a larger proportion of the staff on the arts magazine than on either of the other two magazines.

I opt for C.

C 's share of dollar sales is 25% and share in profits is 40%
(C)
The fashion magazine has generated the highest profits per dollar of total generated sales of all three magazines.

C is aligned with the findings.

OA plz.
