An analysis of infant mortality shows that, over the last twenty years, the number of infant deaths in less-developed countries has been dropping at a faster rate than has the number of infant deaths in industrialized countries. As of this year, however, industrialized countries still have considerably lower infant mortality rates.

Which of the following conclusions may be drawn from the statements above?

A) Twenty years ago, industrialized countries had fewer infant deaths than did less-developed countries.

B) The infant mortality rate for less-developed countries will continue to drop at a much faster rate than will that of industrialized countries.

C) Eventually, there will be no difference at all between infant mortality rates in less-developed countries and industrialized countries.

D) Industrialized nations had lower rates of infant mortality twenty years ago than did less-developed countries during the same period.

E) The current infant mortality rates in less-developed countries are lower than those in industrialized nations twenty years ago.

OA is D

Conclusion - Infants death rate in less-developed countries is dropping at higher rate than that of Industrialized countries.

reason - death rate of industrialized countries is controlled way back in the history while death rate of less-developed countries was still very high.

option D gives the same reasoning as mine.
