Timing Issue Verbal Section

Hi ,

I have been having issue with mine timing in Verbal section since long. Could not really pin point the pain area. Attaching mine latest Manhattan CAT result sheet.Can someone pls point out the real weakness?

Below is high Level Analysis i have done:
CR Total 14 questions:
4 questions In time (7 min)
4 questions slight above time acceptable (9.5 min)
3 questions with no time left (Had To Guess)(1 min)
3 questions with unacceptable time(12 min)

RC Total 4 Passages (3 questions each)
RC1 :5.24min
RC2 :10.4min
RC3 :7 min
RC4: 4 min

SC Total 15 Questions
10 Questions (around 1 min for each) total time 9 mins
2 Questions (exceeded time) total time 6 mins
3 questions ran out of time( had to guess) , total time 30 sec.

That is SOME analysis!

Weakness is timing and not really any section.
According to me, you should not be taking 10 minutes for a 3 question RC.
3 questions with unacceptable time(12 min) : This is also too much. You yourself call it unacceptable. If you are not getting something in 2 minutes and think it will go on for ever, then leave it at 2 to 2.5 minutes and move on. 30 minutes of your Verbal section has been spent in CR.

To improve speed, take timed tests for individual areas. Like a 10 minute test of 5 CRs etc.

RC2 is the killer here. As a general guideline I would say take about 1 min to answer SC, 90 sec for CR and approximately 2 mins per question in RC. Try to master SC and CR, so that you have sufficient time for the RC. Also, learn to move on. If you are taking too much time at a question just make a random guess and move on.If you wouldn't have spent too much time on the second RC you could have correctly answered the CR and SC questions towards the end. If you have to make a guess, make it on something that is consuming your time.
