weaken problem

by paes » Sat May 29, 2010 6:23 am
I recently doubled my salary by taking a new job. I've been working at a company for two days and now realize that the company's workers are mean-spirited and egotistical. I have decided that high paying companies have unfriendly employees.
Which of the following, if true, would weaken the above conclusion?

A. The work environment brings out the worst in people.
B. The company has 150,000 employees.
C. Salary is more important than work environment.
D. The benefits of the new job outweigh the unfriendly people.
E. Egotistical workers can often outperform less self-confident employees.

OA after some discussion.

oA is B
Source : 800scores

Explanation : two days are not good enough to know the 15,000 employee. Hence it is weakening the conclusion that ' high paying companies have unfriendly employees'.

But I found A more straight forward.

A superb Question. Thanks paes for the post.

The context set of A, if you think about it, is huge. It talks of work environment which encompasses everything.
The context of B is just a number of employees, specifically of the company.

Which one do you think is not in scope then? A is certainly more straightforward but, huge in context. B is narrow in approach and hence more correct.
