Background:
Undergrad:
University of Illinois (Chicago)
Political Science w/ honors 3.6/4.0 (2002)
Grad:
DePaul University College of Law (2005)
3.5/4.0
DePaul GSB
3.9/4/0 (finance and econ major)
Decided to stop MBA @ DePaul after 1 year of part time course work because it just wasn't challenging enough and I had no clear reason for why I was doing it.
GMAT: 700 (Q75, V92)
Worked on mergers and trals as a lawyer for 2.5 years, joined a multinational's strategy group but got laid off after 6 months (along with 15K others). Been unemployed for the past 6 months, but have been working to start a real estate mgmt company.
Several internships during school- mostly on the legal side, one doing M&A and strategy work for a $700MM firm in Chicago.
Quality and depth of work (i.e. intensity, challenge, contact with senior execs etc) is high. Extracurriculars is also very high (mostly during undergrad, some exposure since then) that show leadership and teamwork.
Career goal is to get back to strategy work and start by working for at top tier mgmt strat/mgmt consulting firm.
Considering the following:
Chicago Booth (part time or full time)
Northwestern (part time or full time)
HBS
what other programs should i consider and what are my chances at each?
Thanks.
S
