the temperature in degrees Celsius (C) can be converted to temperature in degrees Fahrenheit(F)by a formula F= 9/5(C)+32. What is the temp at which F = C??

a) 20m

b) (32/5) degree

Since F= C substitute F for C in the equation.

F = (9/5)F + 32

4/5 F = -32

F = -32 * 5/4 = -40.
Vineesh,
Just telling you what I know and think. I am not the expert. :)

We can plug in the answers, which represent the temperature in degrees Celsius.

The formula indicates that F is 32 more than almost double the value of C.
Thus, unless C is negative, the value of F will be bigger than the value of C.
Eliminate A, B and C.

Answer choice D: -20 degrees Celsius
F = (9/5)(-20) + 32
F = -4.
-4 ≠ -20.
Eliminate D.

The correct answer is E.
