Hi experts, in the following sentence, what is being modified by the clause which helps..?
'One such adaptation is the closer proximity of the terrestrial snake's heart to its head, which helps to ensure circulation to the brain.'
In the sentence, the word 'which' is closest to the noun 'head'. Does that mean that it is modifying 'head'?
(This is from a passage in OG 12 page 366)[/quote]
