2 numbers that fit the bill are 38(y),39(x)

One defnite value for xy

Again 38 and 39 are the numbers that will fit the bill.

If u make one 37 then the other number hs to be 40. Tens digit will be different.

Tens digit same for the numbers X and Y.
and
Sum of numbers is 77.

both the numbers if possible should lie between 30 and 39
(range from 30 + 39 = 69 ... 39 + 38 = 77).
they cannot be in 40's coz 40 + 41 = 81.. which is more than 77.

next 77 = 43 + 34 (let X =43 and Y = 34)
to keep the tens digit same. you can add a max of 5 to Y..and if you add 5 to Y, then you should subtract 5 from X).

Hence. the only 2 numbers possible are 39 and 38.
