Hi, I want to know if it is a good idea to use short form of a long phrase or term such as electronic transaction (ET.) Is it OK to use it after making it clear after my first usage of the term? It is a waste of time to type the whole term repeatedly for some one like me who is poor at typing.

No definitely not.

You have to stick to long forms, you cannot invent new short forms. You can use existing ones for eg. FBI. But inventing will not help you.

You have half an hour to write the entire thing. Just plan for 10-12 sentences. and type them without abbreviations.

Do some practice.

I agree with vineeshp - don't assume that the reader knows the same acronyms/initialisms as you do.
Similarly, try to avoid colloquial phrases (e.g., "let the cat out of the bag" or "look a gift horse in the mouth") since this may confuse readers who don't have the same background.
