could some one provide reasoning for answer choice A and D. I was split between A and D. I thought by making advert. campaign more controversial the name of the company may get damaged, and thus the campaign may not be successful.

There is nothing in the passage that would allow us to establish anything about what companies are "typically concerned with". This is why D is wrong.
On the other hand, we learn from the passage that an advertising strategy involves strategic placement. This is why the usefulness of a particular ad strat cannot be evaluated "solely" by reference to the extent of persuasiveness in the ad. This is why A is right.
