Can someone help me out with the following problem? Thanks.

At a certain company, the average number of years of experience is 9.8 years for the male employees and 9.1 years for the female employees. What is the ratio of the number of the company's male employees to the number of the company's female employees?

1 - There are 52 male employees at the company.

2 - The average number of years of experience for the company's male and female employees is 9.3 years.

The answer is Statement 2 Alone but I'm not sure how to get there. Thanks.

Concept of "mixture".

You mix two liquids with A% and B% of sugars, and the resultant mixture has C% of sugar than use following way to find ratio in mixtures:


Step 1:
A(1-x) + B(x) = C
Find the value of x.

Step 2:
Ratio of A and B is x:1-x

Please note the difference that A was multiplied by (1-x) in step one, but A contribution is x not (1-x).

Good one!

Male Employees age: 9.8 * x
Female Employees age: 9.1 * y

from 2, (9.8x + 9.1y)/x+y = 9.3 => 9.8x + 9.1y = 9.3x +9.3y => x/y= 0.2/0.5
Hope this is a correct approach! :)
