If 4^w = n, what is the units digit of n?

w is an even integer
w > 0
4^w = n
4^1 = 4
4^2 = 16
4^3 = 64
..
Hence when w is odd positve, units digit is 4
when w is even positive, units digit is 6

When w is negative, units digit is always 0.

Hence pick C.

Praveen,

I think its E.

W>0.

Still P unit's digit can be 4 or 6.

If it is mentioned that w is even or odd,the answer is C.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Didnt get you Anand.

Combining both:
W>0 and W is even.
So units digit should always be 6.

Am I missing something?

It's 4 only if w is odd, when w is even and positive, the unit digit is always 6.
Yep.
