122. What is the volume of a certain rectangular solid?
(1) Two adjacent faces of the solid have areas 15
and 24, respectively.
(2) Each of two opposite faces of the solid has
area 40.
My problem is that I understand the explanatin given in the OG, but for me it is insufficient.
V = lwh
(1) lw or lh or wh = 15 and lw or lh or wh = 24 INSUFFICIENT
(2) 2lw or 2lh or 2hw= 40 ==> the area of the last unknown face is 40/2 = 20
When we combine we have :
lw * lh * wh = l²h²w² = 15 * 20 * 24 and the anser is the square root of that. Answer C
Is my reasonning okay ?
