To Mitch and ceilidh.erickson: two pronouns one antecedent

Compared to those who do not, running three days a week saves an average of 14.1 percent on health-care costs each year in the United States.

A. Compared to those who do not, running three days a week saves

B. Compared with nonrunners, people who run three days a week save

C. Compared to not running, those running for three days a week save

D. When compared with those who do not, people running three days a week save

E. When compared to nonrunners, running three days a week saves

In D, those and who both refer to people. is this also an error?
P.S: the rule i am refering to is no two pronouns can have same antecedent.

those who is a valid construction.

SC86 in the OG for Verbal 2015:
Intar now draws on the works of contemporary Hispanic authors, both those who live abroad and those who live in the United States.
Here:
The first those serves to refer to a specific subset of Hispanic authors, while the first who serves to refer to the first those.
The second those serves to refer to a different subset of Hispanic authors, while the second who serves to refer to the second those.
In each case -- since those serves to refer to authors, while who serves to refer to those -- the two pronouns do not have the same referent.
