Sentence correction -- Flashcards

by naveenshan » Tue Jun 28, 2011 7:42 am
From the flashcards

1.When "Consider" means "regard as", "as" should not be used in the sentence. "Consider" is also not followed by an infinitive "to be".

By the statement above:

Please consider the pen as a gift -- is WRONG

How do I frame the above sentence??

2. I was of the thought that None of + plural noun can take either a singular or a plural verb, but from the flashcards I find that None of should always take a singular verb..

Please correct me if my understanding is wrong..

"Consider the pen a gift." would be correct.

2. "None" is a contraction for "not one" and therefore takes the singular to relate to "one".
