If the gourmet chocolates Lauren received today had been sent by someone who knows Lauren well, that person would have known that Lauren prefers dark chocolate to milk chocolate. Yet Lauren received milk chocolate. On the other hand, if the chocolate had been sent by someone who does not know Lauren well, that person would have sent a signed card with the chocolates. Yet Lauren received no card. Therefore, the gourmet chocolate company must have made some sort of mistake: Either Lauren was supposed to receive dark chocolate and a card, or these chocolates were intended for someone else.
Which one of the following statements, if true, most weakens the argument?
Some people who knew Lauren well have sent her cards along with chocolates.
The gourmet chocolate factory has never delivered the wrong chocolates to Lauren before.
Someone who does not know Lauren well would be unlikely to send Lauren chocolates.
Some people send chocolates for a reason other than the desire to please.
Most people send milk chocolate when they send chocolates.
