c. earth's own galaxy, which lies at the Milky Way's center, lies

a. the center of Earth's own galaxy, the Milky Way, lies

I chose this initially. Looking at the answer, I can explain why A is wrong as follows:
"Earth's own galaxy: implies that Earth owns the galaxy or earth possesses the galaxy which is not true. Earth happens to be in the galaxy.
So distorts the meaning.

b. the center of the Milky Way, the galaxy where earth is located, lies
Correct.

c. earth's own galaxy, which lies at the Milky Way's center, lies

earth's own galaxy: distorts the meaning. Also 'which lies..., lies' is ackward.

D THE Milky Way's center of earth's own galaxy is located

Waaaah :(.. crazy... totaly wrong

e. the milky way, which is located at earth's galaxy's center, lies

X's Y's center: not sure what that really means. Anyway it is ackward and distorts meaning coz earth does not possess galaxy or milkyway.
