IMO C.

.....a fungus that has been slowly weaving its way through the roots of the trees for centuries has become largest living organism ....

for centuries should be at the right place to modify the phrase " has been slowly weaving its way through the roots of the trees". Amd "has been slowly weaving" indicates that the action has started in the past and continuing in the present.

Any thoughts please ?

IMO:C

I think we have to use "present perfect" here.. bcoz d activity began in d past and is still continuing in the present..

IMO C.

i think A and C are the serious contenders here.
B has does not seem to be that good a option.

See the eg below.

sentence 1 : A plane has been flying for 100 years to become the oldest known known till data
Sentence 2 :A plane that has been flying for 100 years has become the oldest know till date.

Excuse me if the eg sucks but i want the point here is "that" and the diff between "to become" and " has become".

"that" it is correctly used in a rescrictive sense.

I think i would prefer sentence2 to sentence 1.

Vignesh

Guys what's wrong with option 'A'? To me it seems better punctuated than Option 'C'

Seperating "has" and "been" is the culprit with choice A. If you read A carefully, it doesn't sound right.
