There are 2 kinds of snakes mentioned in the passage -- king snakes
and coral snakes.

B compares "kings" and "coral snakes" and "that slither" seems to
refer to "coral snakes" alone.

I think the answer is A.
B ...There is pronoun error... that. That refers to one kind of snake(coral) and not to snake.
c,d, are wrong as they use amoung.
e...changes the meaning of original sentence

For this question, we will look at the two words Between and among and where they are mostly applicable in sentences structure.
Betweenis used to distinguish two elements.
for example, Share five oranges between Tunde and Ade .

Among is used to distinguish three or more elements.
e.g Share thirty oranges among Tunde, Ayo and Victor.

To the question, The passage refers to two kinds of snakes which are Kings and Corals. Between is preferred to among here because two kinds of snakes were involved.
thus option A is the right answer.

It is important to know that you can use the wordBetween when you are talking about distinct and individual items even if there are more than two of them.
e.g She chose between king's college, Saint. Joseph's college and Diocesen grammar school.
this is because they are individual item
