610 to 750 - can I do it?

by 06agupta » Fri Sep 07, 2012 12:28 am
Hi there,

My name is Ashwin and I will be taking the GMAT exam on the 9th of October. I have already taken it once and I scored a disappointing 610(v28 q46). I mostly followed the Knewton video course for my first attempt. This time I am using the following as my study material:

1. OG 13th edition
2. MGMAT study guides (4th edition)
3. PowerScore CR Bible
4. Aristotle SC Grail & RC99

My only chance of improving my score is by improving my verbal by a hefty margin. I definitely struggle with CR and RC questions, so those will be attacked at the very beginning of my prep. Starting from today, I will devote 4 hours each to math and verbal everyday. Every day or other day, I will update this thread with my progress.

Please feel free to give me tips on my study plan, strategies to conquer verbal or even a soup recipe to keep me active lol

750 here I come!!!!!

Thank you!

So it's been a couple of days. I have not been able to start off with the momentum that I wanted to but I am off to a decent start. Started off with the CR Bible. I definitely have a problem differentiating between premises and conclusions in difficult questions. But the book is very well written and although I have finished just one chapter, I can begin to see a clarity of method in my approach toward CR.

I also revised tenses. Time-frames in difficult questions is a big concern. Reviewed that and hopefully will be able to apply it in questions that I'll practice from OG.

Today, I am planning to finish off another chapter of CR Bible, start off with the sentence correction guide of Manhattan. Tomorrow I'll concentrate on Number Properties in Math.

Please feel free to share any tips, tricks, or comments!!
