Negating an assumption

Hi,

I have a question regarding the Assumption Negating Technique (ANT)

It basically says that if i take the opposite of an assumption as true and as a result the conclusion goes invalid, then this is the correct assumption.

Can this technique be used for all possible assumption questions or there are any exceptions to this rule?

Also, is it preferable to use this technique on the shot-listed 2/3 choices to save time or should I go ahead and negate all 5 answer choices to find the correct answer?

The key to efficiency in assumption questions is to realize that any answer choice that supplies a brand new reason is not the assumption. You need an answer that relates to the evidence that has already been supplied. So you can eliminate some choices confidently with taking the time to negate. Assumption questions are a lot like inference questions in that "off-topic" answers are incorrect. Here is an article that might help https://www.beatthegmat.com/mba/2012/06/ ... -an-expert
