Verbal Tougher?

Hi,

I'm not sure about this...but I've been hearing from quite a few people that the verbal section on the GMAT has become tougher (than what's given in the OG )this year?

Any clues about this guys?

On average if you do well on the exam, the questions are going to be harder than most of the questions in the OG. Those questions span a variety of difficulties.

Hi snigdha1605,

The GMAT is a remarkably consistent exam, so you can expert the Verbal section to perform in much the same way that it has for the last 5 years (the length of time that your GMAT score is good for). The Verbal section will adapt to your performance though (so if you're doing well, then you can expert to see more difficult questions) and it does include "experimental" questions that do not count (and some of these questions may seem hard).

I'm going to assume that the people you've heard from are basing their deductions on their limited experience with practice CATs and their limited experience with the actual GMAT. I would further assume that none of them are actual GMAT experts. So, you might consider the source before you assign too much weight to someone's opinion.
