At the end of CH. 11 of MGMAT Equations, Inequalities, & VICs book, it mentions optimization problems.
Firstly, are those really tested? I've been through a several practice exam, and haven't seen one.
Secondly, I know calculus isn't part of the test, but aren't optimization problems better done with elementary calculus. Maybe because I know my calculus pretty well, I find it more accurate and easier. Will it be ok for me to use calculus, or do you think it will be better for me to stick with algebra?
