COnfusion with the sentence

i saw this sentence in a newspaper article and was confused with the use of 'which'

Italy won the 2006 world cup final in a penalty shootout against France, which qualified this year after...............................



i want to know if "which" should be used here to modify France. If not which what should be used.

The sentence is correct as written.
