detailed explanation please!!The explanation in OG is not clear at all.

When and Addition is made with the help of AND,
example : X and Y => Plural Subjects

A. all states face similar industrial waste problems, the predominating industries and the regulatory environment of the states obviously determines
S-V agreement problem

B. each state faces a similar industrial waste problem, their predominant industries and regulatory environment obviously determine
S-V problem(Subject- Verb Agreement)


C. all states face a similar industrial waste problem; their predominating industries and regulatory environment obviously determines

D. each state faces similar industrial waste problem, the predominant industries and the regulatory environment of each state obviously determines


E. all states face similar industrial waste problems, the predominant industries and the regulatory environment of each state obviously determine

IMO E

Again this is a 3:2 split.. between determine and determines.. "the predominant industries and the regulatory environment" implies that we need to use "determine" i.e. plural..

so u can strike out A,C and D, without even reading the whole sentence..

Now you can strike out B because it uses each state and then refers back to it with "their".. that is wrong..

We are left with choice E

In my opinion, the problem of waste material can be handled by recycling, old products can be used to manufacture new products. It is possible with help of new generation waste recycling equipment.
