Profile Evaluation - help

Hello,
I just took the GMAT a week ago for my first time and I would like to hear your opinions.

I am 27 years old, my graduate is B.sc in Industrial Engineeing.
My GPA is around 3.5

Work: 2 years as student in SAP assemelation.
2 years as student as a programmer.
1 year in procurement.


GMAT: 570 (Q44, V24, essay 4.5)

I would like to apply baruch college for M.S in computer information systems, my second option is MBA.

I would appreciate your opinions,

As CUNY's flagship college, Baruch is always there high on the rankings. Location is also very good.

Regarding your profile, you are seemingly a cut-out for Baruch's MS programmer.

GMAT score well above the middle 80 percent GMAT range, GPA is ok(high GPA is always helpful) and work experience is on the higher side and very releavant.

Prepare your application well. Spend time with the recommenders.

MBA is also very good considering NY, fees and placements.

Hi, Thank you for the reply.

I am not sure I understood the meaning of cut-out for Baruch's... Do you mean I have good chances?

What is the meaning of "mid-80% range of 510 to 710", acctualy that 80% of the students got scores in that range?

Looking at 2011 fall MBA class profile the average gmat score was 590. The students scored in the range of 560-730. We would advise you to retake gmat and improve your score just to be sure gmat wise. If you could improve your gmat score by 15-20 points it would be helpful.

Well then, just go for it. I disagree that you need to retake the GMAT for just a chance to maybe get 20 extra points to hit the average. You have a good enough score to apply, so just do it, using the essays and other materials to show them how you are strong in other ways. And your 3.5 should be very sweet for your application.
