I will go with B here.

The decision was between B and D. desperate and unprofessional modify manner, hence we do not need repetition of as a/an.

OA - B; Source - Platinumgmat

However, I am still not sure whether 'as an' in D is incorrect

a desperate and unprofessional manner - is this correct
a desperate and an unprofessional manner - IMO this is better as it uses appropriate 'an' to qualify unprofessional.

Your views pls.
