In st 2 :

LHS is always +ve. But we know that Y is also positive. Putting the values together in the equation , its violating the stated conditions:

+ < - ( +)
This is a Impossible condition. Plzz chk the question stem

Anyways st1 is of less use.. chk st2 : is that rightly transcribed?

Yes I also had doubt in this..

It should be y>=0

|x - 3| <= - y

In this case |x-3|=0

x=3

Am I right?
